About Ribera del Duero
Ribera del Duero is one of Spain's most exciting wine regions, producing powerful, age-worthy reds from Tempranillo (locally called Tinto Fino or Tinta del País). The high plateau location (800-1,000 meters) creates extreme temperature swings that contribute to the wines' intensity. The region gained international fame with Vega Sicilia, established in 1864, and has since attracted numerous quality-focused producers. Modern Ribera offers an exciting alternative to Rioja.
